Providing Practical Principles of Christian Faith, One Book at a Time

Discover the Sweet World of Little Honeycomb Press: Where Faith, Family, and Reading Come Together
Say hello to the newest small Christian publisher on the block! LHP is a 100% woman-owned small business that was born out of a calling God put on the heart of Rachael Hartzell, LHP owner/CEO/tech support/accounting manager/social butterfly/introverted writer, etc.
The heart of LHP is simple: publish high quality children’s books based on biblical principles that engage the hearts and minds of readers. This means LHP will never skimp on any step of the process – materials, editing, literary content, illustrations, etc.
Rachael understands your read-aloud time is a precious moment between you and your children that will have lasting affects. Little Honeycomb Press is here to ensure this time with your family is protected and filled with lessons of high moral character.

Discipleship is easier than you think.
At Little Honeycomb Press, we know some children get consistent daily decipleship from their parents and other role models in their lives. However, we know this isn’t the norm.
Many children only experience discipleship on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings at church. There are also children who only hear about the gospel during VBS or a holiday event hosted by a local church.
Each of these opportunities to plant seeds are wonderful, but they don’t bridge the gap between church and home. That’s where LHP books come in!
Little Honeycomb Press aims to produce highly engaging books and supplemental materials to meet families where they’re at in their walk with Christ. LHP wants to help empower parents, no matter where they’re at in their journey of faith, to make discipleship a regular and attainable part of their family culture.
Why? Simply put, God gave parents the responsibility to raise His children with the truth and goodness of His Word so that they might accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. At first, that responsibility feels heavy enough to sink a yacht!

Intentionality is key!
Here’s the good news: Parents don’t have to be theologians to disciple their children and do it well! You just need to be intentional. Abide with God and read the Bible daily, and have fun learning with your children.
Part of being intentional in discipling your children is seeking out strong Christian books and resources for your famliy. Check out LHP’s debut book “The Garden Scouts: Buzzing With Love” and start intentionally discipling your family today!
“My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.”
FAQs

Why Little Honeycomb Press?
Picking a company name is no easy task. After all, the name and logo are often times the first contact people have with a company. They help form their first impressions.
Keeping this in mind, Rachael knew this small publishing company needed a name that strikes that balance between being sweet enough for children’s books, yet professional enough to be taken seriously as a legitimate publishing company.
Rachael also wanted there to be significance behind her company’s name. The name should help remind her and everyone else what the company stands for and strives to promote with each of its books.
Rachael kept being led back to nature-based names, but especially ones focused on bees and honey. The next natural step was to consult scripture. This led Rachael to Proverbs 24:13-14 (as seen above). As soon as she read it, she knew the honeycomb was the foundation she needed for the name.
In these verses, honey is the wisdom we feed our souls, including our children’s souls. For the purpose of this company, books are the honeycomb containing such sweet wisdom. With Little Honeycomb Press books to help reinforce biblical wisdom and truths, we can sweeten the lives and minds of those around us.

Where are LHP books sold?
To start, the first eBook and hardcopy versions will be sold on Amazon. For now, the book will only available to customers in the U.S. and Canada. LHP will expand into other markets as interest grows.
Once those versions are well established with solid reviews on Amazon, an online shop will be launched here on the company website.
Until word spreads further about it, The Garden Scouts series will only be sold online, at select locations in Oklahoma, and in-person if you happen to meet author and LHP owner, Rachael Hartzell, at a book signing, school visit, or vendor event.
Who’s fulfilling orders?
While it may change in the future, please pray for Rachael and her family while they learn the ins & outs of storage and order fulfillment, as they are the current LHP fulfillment team.

How did this happen?
This isn’t a business that started with deep-pocket investors. This is a business started and sustained on FAITH. Rachael prayed and prayed over the decision to start LHP. Everytime she kept being told the same thing: “Do it and trust that I will provide.” She did and He has!
What is LHP working on?
LHP’s first project, a picture book series called The Garden Scouts, teaches kids how to live out the fruit of the Spirit. Each book in this series will focus on one fruit to help kids (and parents) go beyond memorization to deepen their understanding of how to live out each fruit.
After reading a book from The Garden Scouts series (and with intentional practice), LHP’s hope is that your family will be able to:
What are you waiting for? Get your copy of the first book in the series, “The Garden Scouts: Buzzing With Love” and start building Godly character into your family culture today!

“This company runs on 100% FAITH…not coffee!”

Why now?
The simple answer: obedience to an urgent calling and faith that God would provide along the way.
Rachael first felt called to write The Garden Scouts series in late Fall of 2021. She felt the calling become urgent that December. She started writing what she calls the “ugly draft” of the first book in January 2022.
A year later and neck deep in the project, Rachael’s family recieved devistating news that nearly brought the whole project to a hault.
After much prayer and discussion with her husband, it was decided that the project and the business formation must continue because it was what Rachael had been called to do. They knew God already saw this coming and had prepared a way.
